Each studio has an emphasis on an interrelated set of theoretical issues that gradually lead to a comprehensive design studio experience.
Students engage in realistic problem solving and investigate theoretical issues in a variety of environmental and urban settings, ranging from the unique historic city of Savannah to major urban and natural settings around the world. As a culmination of their graduate course of study, students devise and solve their own architectural design thesis project. The post-professional Master's program is designed to fulfill the needs of students with professional degrees in architecture or an equivalent professional and academic background.
The program provides opportunities for these students to develop a special focus in architecture such as electronic design. The work of professionals in a variety of art and design fields is analyzed to understand the application of two-dimensional design. The importance of presentation and craftsmanship is emphasized. Students refine the use of black-and-white media, learn to use color media, and skillfully integrate content, concept and composition.
