Be Sun Safe! This means day visitors are supposed to stay away from camping areas and the guests holding a permit. There is only one camping area that will allow Caravans and Campers, which is Camping Area 4. All the other camping areas have a separate section for the car parking to the campsite, barricaded to drive in. It has its own car park and a small hike to complete. Camp Fires: Yes and areas provided Please purchase firewood before entering the Park. There is a small creek crossing to get in here, and we only stopped for a short time at the day-use area. On this occasion in the National Park, we stayed on site 22, further away from the creek. There are only 24 sites all up, and the first 10 are located along the creek, with the rest in behind. They have plenty of room for a tent set up and lots of trees to hang towels and clothes to dry. Right beside Camping site 1 is the entrance to the creek swimming area and can get a lot of walking traffic.

This is the open plan area with a few trees and obviously the only camping area that allows Caravans or anything like it. This is one of the biggest drawcards that people have to stay in this Camping Area. Keep in mind that this was once a very low-key place and few visitors, but word is out, and we had to book 3 weeks ahead to get a spot.
The creek was as crystal clear as you see in the photos. However, after 20 people jump in for a swim, it soon stirs up and becomes very cloudy. March in South East Queensland is normally a good time for a refreshing swim, to escape the heat. I think this area is maybe too shaded, and the water is freezing, or at least it was at this time.
Finally, not really a warning, but more of a consideration. This is a National Park, and there will be Animals around.
